Sales Terms
Version 1.0 — Effective July 19, 2026
These Sales Terms govern the financial transactions carried out through the DriveShare platform: booking, payment, deposit, refunds and payouts. They complement the Terms of Service.
1. DriveShare's role
DriveShare acts as a payment intermediary through Stripe Connect. The platform collects the full rental amount on behalf of the Owner, deducts its service fee, then pays the balance to the Owner.
2. Price, service fees and VAT
The displayed price includes the rental fee set by the Owner and DriveShare's service fees. VAT is applied to the service fees in accordance with applicable regulations and detailed on the invoice. The total amount is communicated before confirmation.
3. Payment
Payment is made online by card via Stripe. Payment is authorised at booking; capture follows the rental schedule. No cash payment directly between the parties is permitted.
4. Deposit / security hold
A deposit may be pre-authorised on the Renter's payment method at the departure inspection. It is released after the vehicle is returned without discrepancy, or charged in whole or in part in the event of recorded damage, under the conditions set by the dispute process.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation by the Renter entitles them to a refund calculated under a tiered policy based on the time before the rental start. Cancellation by the Owner gives rise to a full refund to the Renter. DriveShare may adjust a refund in the event of a dispute.
6. Payout to the Owner
The balance due to the Owner is transferred to their Stripe Connect account after the rental ends, provided there is no dispute. The Owner must have completed Stripe onboarding and enabled payouts to receive funds.
7. Invoicing
Invoices are generated automatically when the rental closes: a rental invoice to the Renter, a payout statement to the Owner and a service-fee invoice. They are available for download from the respective spaces.
8. Financial disputes
Any dispute relating to a payment, a deposit or a refund is handled through the platform's dispute process. DriveShare may arbitrate and decide on the allocation of amounts based on the evidence provided by the parties.
